The research took as input information from the Labor Monitor that Advice periodically prepares and was based on the review and systematization of information from the various job portals and virtual job boards in force in Uruguay between May and October 2020, in order to understand what are the main demands and requirements of talent in the national IT industry today.
Among the findings of the study, it is noted that:
- The technology area ranks second in the number of job calls published by all economic sectors of the country, showing the growing impact of this industry and its dynamism in a challenging national economic situation.
- Between the months of May to October 2020, IT companies offered around 1900 jobs; 83% requiring talent in the ICT field and 17% for other types of positions.
- In this period, companies in other economic sectors offered 637 jobs for ICT talents.
- Positions with a technical profile technical are widely in demand both for companies in the IT industry and for companies in other sectors, above senior management positions, middle management, middle management, professionals management, middle management, professional, professional y employees. IT companies demand four times as many senior management or leadership positions specialising in ICT as companies in other sectors.
