Developers and the labor market in Uruguay

In April Builders presented the results of a survey of more than 1000 Uruguayan developers.

The survey was conducted between February and April 2021 through a call to LinkedIn users and the Pro universitarios database.

Among the main characteristics of the sample is that 80% of the respondents are under 34 years old, 71% have 10 years or less of coding experience and 60% work in companies with 100 or more collaborators.

Some of the milestones reveal that there is a high level of satisfaction with their current job (77% are satisfied or very satisfied).

Only 12% mentioned actively seeking new opportunities.

Remote work is now the most valued benefit, followed by other benefits associated with improved workspace.

The salary, the possibilities of growth and the use of new technologies are determining factors for a developer to decide to change jobs.
