Uruguay is the regional leader in E-Government according to the UN report

The United Nations published the 2020 edition of its 'E-Government Survey', in which Uruguay appears in second place in the hemisphere, behind the United States and leading in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This index, published biannually since 2001, evaluates the performance of a government against the others, averaging normalized scores in a range from 0 to 1, in three dimensions: online services, telecommunications infrastructure and human capital. Uruguay climbed from 34th place in the ranking in 2018 to 26th place in 2020, with a score of 0.85 out of 1.
